Lock by Debra Anastasia is book in her not a series. Every book is about another couple and is a standalone. The previous books are Mercy and Havoc and for a better understanding I recommend to read the books in order.

Lock is Ember and Lock's heart wrenching story.
Ember is Mercy's sister and she grew up lonely. She longed for a loving family of her own. Now, that she's 19 years, she got Mercy and Animal. Ember wants to experience a normal life, ok as normal as it gets with her brother breathing down her neck.
And there's Sherlock Sonnet - Lock. He got the short stick in life. He wanted to go to college, but life had other plans. Now he has to play carefully to keep his family safe and himself alive.
And then IT happens. He meets Ember and he knows she's his one. But fate/karma say a big fat ummm no.
I don't even know where to start with this review; my heads in a complete spin analyzing and thinking on the events that have transpired before my very eyes but one thing I do know from the bottom of my very soul that this for me was, in my opinion, the most real and raw story that Debra Anastasia has written.
I have read a lot from this author and every book I have ever opened of hers has touched me in some way, shape or form; Lock was for me the pinnacle of all these other reads ; I am so glad I took a chance on this too.
I honestly think this is one journey that just needs to be experienced in all its messy glory.
Going in blind here is probably the best thing you can do.
So, this is not a traditional love story it is anything but, what we have here is a stark portrayal of strong love, betrayal, danger and need.
Messy and sometimes selfish the road to happiness here is paved with heartache and tears.

I smiled and cried and also felt the depths of despondency right alongside Ember and Lock.
It was such a raw honest read and it gutted me to the core.

And I absolutely adored that book; If I could give this more than five stars I so would, this is a story that's going to live within my heart for a very long time.
I highly, Highly recommend Lock, Mercy and Havoc. Please do yourself a favour and read the books.

I finished Lock a few days ago and I’m still not sure I can put into words how much I loved it. These characters, this world are just amazing. It is a stand-alone in the Mercy setting but really if you read any of these you’ll want to devour them all.

Lock is so adorable, funny, smooth, and pure amazing ness.

Ember is so strong, and definitely strong willed.

I just adore this group so much. Add Lock to your Must Read list ASAP!
Lock and Ember are a story for the ages!
Opposite's on so many levels that it's almost nuts to root for them to be together, but that's just what you do when you read their story.
Debra has an amazing way of making you fall in love with every single aspect of her story.
She has the perfect amount of humor backed with the correct amount of sexy with a dash of dirty.
This story is about life, risk and reward, and love.
You will fall in love with ALL the things this story has to offer.

When their eyes met the first time, their fate was sealed. He was just trying to provide for his family and survive. All she wanted was independence and to finally spread her wings. Life had it’s own plan.

Lock fought for a better future, but circumstances forced him to make choices to survive. He never saw her coming.

Ember has been completely sheltered. Her brother Nix was determined to keep the ugly from touching her, no matter the cost. However, his protection left her unprepared for her future.

Another great story from the author. An unstoppable attraction, a bunch of bad guys and a beautiful love story in the perfect package. I enjoy the darkness in this series. Their is incredible beauty in the dark. Not everyone is born into their family. Some families are created by blood shed and sacrifice.

I love Nix, so getting so much of him in this story was fantastic. We also get to catch up with T and Animal which was a treat! I hope their will be more because I would love to read Felon’s story!
This book. This book!!! This is the kind of book I absolutely love to read. A fantastic romantic suspense story with dark touches along the way. Be aware, the beginning is going to suck you in with its cuteness, but like storm clouds in the summer, the darkness that takes over this book will come quickly. Leaving you shocked, worried, and incapable of stopping.

This book can most definitely be read as a standalone. In my personal opinion, it would be best to read Mercy and Havoc first though. It will help you to understand the dynamic between all of these characters a little better and enhance your reading experience.
My obsession with this book and this series is at an all time high. Debra Anastasia outdid herself with Lock. With each book she releases in this series the more I need and don’t want her to leave these characters. I wasn’t sure where we were going when I knew Ember was getting her own story but Anastasia blew my expectations out of the water.

Ember and Lock are perfect for each other. The wittiness between then was great. But also we were shown just how much they needed one another to survive their situations. They leaned on one another when there was no one else around. They were the Lock and Key.

It was also great to see the relationship between Ember and Mercy develop more into that brother and sister bond. We see just how much they mean to each other and we understand a little more why Mercy is the way he is.

ANIMAL!!!!! So many hearts for this man lol. After reading Lock my love for Animal is so much stronger than it was for Havoc. He was an added piece to Thai story. We got to see what was going on from Mercy and Animal’s point of view even though the story is about Ember and Lock. We also see how much Animal values Ember.

I can’t wait to read this story again and fall in love with these characters again and again. 5 stars for Lock
